It temporarily prevents specific muscle movements, treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis, platysmal bands, and medically indicated for migraines and upper limb muscle spasticity.

It works by blocking the release of membrane-bound acetylcholine transmitter at the neuromuscular endplate resulting in temporary paralysis of the affected muscle.

The most common side effects are generalised weakness, eyelid drooping, fatigue (tiredness and/or asthenia), ‘flu-like’ symptoms, pain, bruising, swelling, and reddening at injection site.

Less commonly, it may cause itching.

Rarely, skin rashes, including rashes at the injection site, and muscle weakness maybe experienced.
